Contributor Terms
Contributor licence and submission rules for media and information shared with OurMosques.
1. What these terms cover
These terms apply when you submit photographs, video, text, captions, documents or other material (“Contributed Material”) to OurMosques, including by sharing a Google Drive folder or other file link for publication consideration.
2. You keep ownership
You do not transfer copyright ownership to OurMosques merely by submitting material. You retain whatever copyright or other rights you lawfully hold.
3. Licence you grant us
By submitting Contributed Material, you grant OurMosques a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, reproduce, resize, crop, edit for presentation, compress, transcode, caption, translate accompanying descriptive text, publish, publicly display, communicate, distribute, archive and promote that material for the operation, editorial coverage, marketing and development of OurMosques and related mosque/community discovery services.
This licence includes permission for reasonable technical use by hosting, cloud storage, content-delivery, analytics, development and other service providers acting for the platform. It does not transfer ownership of your work to those providers.
4. Your promises
You confirm that you own the material or have sufficient permission and authority to grant the licence above; that publication will not knowingly infringe another person’s copyright, privacy or other legal rights; and that you have obtained any permissions reasonably required for staged portraits, organised photography or other content where permission is necessary.
5. Editorial control
Submission does not guarantee publication. We may accept, decline, select, crop, resize, edit for clarity/presentation, caption, group, feature, unfeature, archive or remove material at our discretion. We may also remove files from our review storage when they are unsuitable, unrelated, duplicated, unlawful or no longer required.
6. Attribution
Where practical, we may credit the contributor, photographer, mosque or organisation using the attribution information supplied. Attribution placement and format may vary by page, device and medium.
7. Removal requests
You may request removal of published contributed material through the platform’s copyright/takedown process. We will consider reasonable requests, but removal may not instantly erase cached copies, backups, previously distributed promotional material or third-party copies already lawfully made while the licence was in effect.
8. No ownership claim over third-party material
Do not submit a file simply because you can access or download it. A Drive share, social-media post or public webpage does not by itself prove you own the copyright. If the material is not yours, obtain permission before submitting it.
